Medellín is een gemeente in de Spaanse provincie Badajoz in de regio Extremadura met een oppervlakte van 65 km². De Latijnse naam was Colonia Metellinensis of kortweg Metellinum in de Romeinse tijd. De stad lag in de Romeinse provincie Hispania Lusitania en is genoemd naar de proconsul Quintus Caecilius Metellus Pius.
