In tegenstelling tot het elegante en rustige profiel van de stranden van Ondarreta en La Concha, heeft het strand van La Zurriola zich gevestigd als een strand met een jonger profiel en geschikt voor surfen (het is het meest open strand met de sterkste golven in de stad) en als het toneel van enkele concerten van het San Sebastian Jazz Festival en Bodyboarding-wedstrijden, surfen, skateboarden en soortgelijke evenementen.
