Epirus is een historische regio in Zuid-Europa, die zowel in Griekenland als Albanië ligt. De regio strekt zich uit van de Ionische Zee tot het Pindosgebergte, en van de baai van Vlorë in het noorden tot de Ambracische Golf in het zuiden.
De naam Epirus is afgeleid van het Griekse woord Ἤπειρος, Épeiros, een woord uit het Dorische Grieks, wat vasteland betekent. De inwoners van Epirus sloegen deze naam op hun munten. De Albanese naam voor de regio is Epiri, wat afgeleid is van de Griekse naam.
