Dit is het centrum van de Merenwijk, een nieuwbouwwijk gebouwd in de jaren '70 en '80. Rond deze plek zijn vrijwel alle voorzieningen geconcentreerd. Er is onder andere een overdekt winkelcentrum, genaamd De Kopermolen, een oecumenische kerk, een dependance van de openbare bibliotheek en een gezondheidscentrum gevestigd. Op dit plein is éénmaal per week een markt. Een herkenningspunt is de grote gele boog midden op het plein.
