El Museu dels Biscaínhos està instal·lat al bell palau residencial d'una família noble, que ho va manar construir al segle XVII .
Aquest bell exemple d´arquitectura barroca civil mostra la forma de vida en una mansió de l´època i encara conserva el mobiliari original de les diferents estances. La casa exhibeix la col·lecció d'art decoratiu dels segles XVII i XVIII , procedent de donacions privades, que es compon principalment de mobles, ceràmica barroca, porcellana xinesa, cristalleria europea, argenteria, teixits i pintures portugueses i europees.
Els jardins, inspirats en els jardins francesos del segle XVII , són els jardins més ben conservats i més complets del període barroc.
