Charleroi er en fransktalende by i Belgien, beliggende i Vallonien, provinsen Hainaut, ved Sambre-floden. Det er hovedbyen i det administrative distrikt Charleroi, som omfatter 12 kommuner på et samlet areal på 472,19 km². Som en stor vej- og jernbaneknudepunkt har Charleroi cirka 200.000 indbyggere. Det er således den største kommune i Vallonien, den næststørste by i Vallonien efter Liège målt på antallet af indbyggere, og den tredjestørste kommune i Belgien. Dens indbyggere kaldes Carolorégiens.
