Brakel er en kommune i den belgiske provins Østflandern. Brakel har et areal på 5644 hektar og har 14.900 indbyggere, som kaldes Brakelaars. Brakel tilhører arrondissementet Oudenaarde.
Geografisk grænser Brakel op mod syd til det sydflamske bakkeland i de flamske Ardenner, dannet af Kluisberg, Hotondberg, Muziekberg, Pottelberg og Rhodesberg. Den nordlige del af Brakel strækker sig ud i Zwalm-dalen. Geologisk set er bakkerne opbygget af tertiære sedimenter; der findes hovedsageligt lerjord. Brakel er en del af de flamske Ardenner.
