Fischbachtal ligger i den forreste Odenwald. Gennem kommunen flyder den navngivende bæk Fischbach, som munder ud i Gersprenz ved Stockstadt i Main. Afstanden til Main er omtrent lig med afstanden til Rhinen ved Gernsheim. Rhinen nås via L 3102 mod Lautertal og landevej 47 i Lauter-dalen.
Den højeste hævning er Rimdidim med 498,5 m over NHN.
