Der achtseitige Feierabendturm der Kirche blickt seit über 500 Jahren auf das ruhige Dorf herab.
Die Kirche hat während des Zweiten Weltkriegs viel erdulden müssen. Der Kirchturm ist seit 1936 ein denkmalgeschütztes Monument. Die Kirche von Middelburg hat in großen Zügen den Plan und die Form beibehalten, in der sie ursprünglich entworfen und zwischen 1452-1458 gebaut wurde. Diese Kirche birgt noch viele Kirchenschätze.
