Fort von Brasschaat
Das Fort von Brasschaat, gebaut zwischen 1909 und 1912, ist noch immer militärisches Gebiet und daher nicht zugänglich. Es wurde bis vor kurzem als Übungsgelände genutzt, ist jetzt jedoch verlassen und ein wichtiger Lebensraum für Fledermäuse.
Das Fort ist Teil eines Europäischen Besonderen Schutzgebiets und liegt in einer waldreichen Gegend, ideal für Spaziergänge entlang des Wanderknotenpunkts 7 des Netzwerks 'Kempense Heide'. In den 1970er Jahren versuchte die belgische Armee, das Fort teilweise in die Luft zu sprengen, aber nur der linke Flügel wurde zerstört.
Das Fort ist über die Bredabaan (N1) und die Sionskloosterlaan erreichbar.
