Am 24. Juni 1912 stellte Pfarrer Heylen der damaligen Gemeindeverwaltung die Anfrage zum "Kauf eines Stücks Land in der Molenstraße zwischen dem Hof der alten unbewohnten Pfarrei und dem Hof der neugebauten Pfarrei, um eine freie Mädchenschule zu errichten". Bereits im Juli 1912 wurde mit dem Bau der Schule mit drei Klassenräumen und einem dazugehörigen Kloster für die Schwestern begonnen, alles nach dem Entwurf von J. Taeymans. Der Komplex wurde 1913 im Kataster eingetragen.
