Edelhof war ursprünglich ein Gebäude, das dem Stift gehörte und im 19. Jahrhundert in ein Herrenhaus/Schlösschen für die lokale prominente Familie De Matthys. umgebaut wurde. Es ist also ein typisches Beispiel für 'neuere Residenzen mit Schlosscharakter'. Heute dient es als Ausgangspunkt/Tor zum Nationalpark Hoge Kempen.
