Die Gartenstadt Haan ist eine mittlere kreisangehörige Stadt des Kreises Mettmann in Nordrhein-Westfalen zwischen Düsseldorf und Wuppertal.
Haan liegt ungefähr auf halber Strecke zwischen Düsseldorf und Wuppertal im Bergischen Land am Übergang zur Niederrheinischen Bucht. Wirtschaftlich wird Haan von der Rheinschiene beeinflusst. Architektonisch und kulturell zählt Haan zum Bergischen Land, was unter anderem an den vielen Fachwerkhäusern deutlich wird. Mit seinen rund 30.000 Einwohnern ist Haan die drittkleinste der zehn Städte im Kreis Mettmann. Der höchstgelegene Punkt der Stadt ist 213 m über Normalnull, der tiefstgelegene Punkt 72 m über Normalnull, die durchschnittliche Höhe beträgt 150 m.
