Hammelburg ist eine Kleinstadt im unterfränkischen Landkreis Bad Kissingen. Sie liegt an den Ausläufern der bayerischen Rhön und an der Fränkischen Saale. Hammelburg ist als die älteste Weinstadt Frankens bekannt und wurde urkundlich erstmals im Jahre 716 erwähnt und gehört damit zu den 30 ältesten Städten Deutschlands.
Wahrzeichen der Stadt sind das im Zentrum gelegene Rathaus mit Marktbrunnen, das Kellereischloss mit Schlossweiher und vor allem das über der Stadt thronende Schloss Saaleck.
