Der Unabhängigkeitspark ist ein historischer Park in Santo Domingo und verdankt seinen Namen dem Umstand, dass hier der Prozess der dominikanischen Unabhängigkeit stattfand. Der Park ist die Hauptplattform, die die Denkmäler zur Unabhängigkeit und die dominikanischen Patrioten beherbergt. Er wurde 1912 vom Architekten Antonin Nechodoma neu gestaltet; damals gab es eine Straße, die die Mauer vom neu geschaffenen Park trennte.
In der Ära von Rafael Leónidas Trujillo wurde der Altar der Heimat errichtet, ein Denkmal, das als letzte Ruhestätte für die Väter der dominikanischen Heimat dient. An der Nordostecke des Parks befinden sich die Überreste der Mauer und des Forts von La Concepción, das die Stadt auf der Westseite umschloss.
Der Park sowie der Altar der Heimat können völlig kostenlos besucht werden. Der Zugang befindet sich am Puerta del Conde, im Osten des Parks, nahe dem Beginn der Fußgängerzone El Conde.
