Description

Der Bogen war die alte Porta di San Maurizio al Ponte in den Mauern aus dem 13. Jahrhundert und erhielt seinen Namen von der kleinen Kirche San Maurizio (im Volksmund Samoreci genannt) und von der Zugbrücke, die direkt davor lag.

Heute ist es ein Rundbogen mit einem von Kragsteinen gestützten Dachboden und zwei Nischen im Inneren, in denen Büsten der Großherzöge der Medici untergebracht sind.
