Die Belagerung von Maastricht fand vom 8. März bis 29. Juni 1579 während des Achtzigjährigen Krieges in und um die Stadt Maastricht statt. Der groß angelegte Angriff des spanischen Feldherrn Alexander Farnese auf die Festung Maastricht führte zur fast viermonatigen Belagerung, der gewaltsamen Einnahme, der darauffolgenden dreitägigen Plünderung und der Rückkehr der spanischen Herrschaft in Maastricht. Sein Hauptquartier war eine Zeit lang die Wasserburg Pietersheim.
