Roermond ist eine Stadt und Gemeinde mit 59.139 Einwohnern in der niederländischen Provinz Limburg. Sie liegt an der Grenze zu Deutschland und nahe Belgien.Die Stadt liegt an der Mündung der Rur in die Maas am rechten Maasufer. Die Innenstadt liegt unmittelbar an der Rur. Das Gemeindegebiet besteht im Wesentlichen aus dem rund fünf Kilometer breiten Streifen zwischen Maas und der Grenze zu Deutschland.
