Der Bombenanschlag auf das World Trade Center in New York City am 26. Februar 1993 kostete sechs Menschen das Leben und über 1.000 Menschen wurden verletzt. Die Explosion in der Tiefgarage des World Trade Centers wurde mithilfe einer Harnstoffnitrat-Bombe in einem Transporter herbeigeführt. Der Anschlag war der erste islamistische Terroranschlag, der sich auf dem Staatsgebiet der Vereinigten Staaten ereignete. Vier der Täter wurden 1994 verhaftet, die zwei weiteren konnten 1997 festgenommen werden.
