Den Dikke van Sesjans is a bronze statue of a horse, located on the grassy area next to the Sint-Jansplein in Hemelveerdegem. The artwork was created by Jan Desmarets and was erected in honor of a legendary stallion, known in real life as "Den Dikke." This stallion was one of the founding sires of the Belgian draft horse and played an important role in the local stallion breeding, which existed for a hundred years with the Matthijs-De Mey family.
