El ayuntamiento de Gante es un edificio con muchos rostros. El gótico llameante de la fachada en Hoogpoort contrasta fuertemente con el renacimiento más sobrio de la que da a Botermarkt. También en su interior conocerá varios estilos diferentes: la Sala de Arsenal con su bóveda de madera, la magnífica Capilla del Matrimonio con las tumbas de Flandes inmortalizadas en seis vitrales, la Sala de la Pacificación con su laberinto de azulejos blancos y negros, símbolo de la búsqueda de justicia y felicidad, etcétera.
El ayuntamiento solo se puede visitar con acompañamiento de un guía.
