Construido en 1912 como uno de los 18 fuertes que formaban parte del cinturón exterior de la Línea de Defensa de Amberes. El fuerte, con sus fosos, es parte del área natural que rodea el Klein Schietveld. El fuerte no se puede visitar y sirve como hotel de invierno para 550 murciélagos.
