Con la replantación tras la tala del bosque durante la Primera Guerra Mundial, el haya ahora es la que lleva la voz cantante en el Bosque de la Música. Sin embargo, el haya deja pasar poca luz con su densa copa. Como resultado, el sotobosque en algunas áreas es limitado. Afortunadamente, el jacinto silvestre, la pequeña pervinca y el ajo silvestre forman cada primavera una colorida excepción aquí. La tala selectiva de árboles en ciertas zonas transformará con el tiempo el Bosque de la Música en un bosque caducifolio mixto con haya, cerezo, roble y fresno.
