La localidad Vlezenbeek pertenece desde el 1 de enero de 1977 a Sint-Pieters-Leeuw y contaba en 2003 con 3312 habitantes. El nombre del lugar ha tenido a lo largo de los siglos diferentes formas de escritura como 'Vlesembeca (1211), Vlesenbeke (1280), Vlazenbeke y Vlezembeek (siglo XV), pero siempre se refiere a la 'Vleze'. Este arroyo tiene su origen en la Merselborre, por donde serpentea a través del centro del pueblo, separa el municipio fusionado en 2 partes distintivas y desemboca en el Zobbroekbeek. Vlezenbeek y Sint-Pieters-Leeuw tienen una larga y común historia. Primero, ambos municipios pertenecieron al dominio de Leeuw, luego a la 'Tierra de Gaasbeek'. En 1687, sin embargo, Sint-Pieters-Leeuw pasó a manos de Jan Karel Roose. En el último trimestre del siglo XVII, Vlezenbeek se convirtió en L'Escornet y Louis-Alexander Schockaert. Vlezenbeek permaneció estrechamente vinculado a Gaasbeek hasta el final del Antiguo Régimen.
