En 1661, Bernard Potier decide fundar en el feudo Fourcroy un orfanato en lugar de la antigua maladrería. Fue la primera fundación de niños reconocida por el rey. A la víspera de la Revolución, el orfanato estaba al cuidado de las monjas del convento de los Feuillants, hasta 1792, fecha de la abolición de las congregaciones. Pasado a ser bien del Estado, el Hospicio de huérfanos fue gestionado por una comisión del municipio. Después de la Segunda Guerra Mundial, el orfanato vuelve a ser propiedad de la Fundación de Blérancourt antes de ser retomado en 1957 por la Asociación el Molino Verde, que instala allí una estructura de acogida para niños con discapacidad mental.
