Wells es una pequeña ciudad catedral. Fue utilizada en la miniserie de TV "Los pilares de la Tierra" al final. La toma aérea final es de Wells en la actualidad, con la catedral alterada por imágenes generadas por computadora. Esto es lo más cercano que puedes estar de la catedral descrita por Ken Follett en su famosa novela Los pilares de la Tierra, ya que la construcción de una catedral tuvo lugar en la ciudad ficticia de Kingsbridge.
