En el Streekbos también encontrarás un sendero natural, gestionado por IVN West-Friesland. Puedes acceder a esta zona tranquila de unas dos hectáreas cruzando un puentecito sobre el agua. No es adecuada para perros ni para visitantes con movilidad reducida. Si ha llovido, se recomienda llevar calzado impermeable. Desde que se remodeló la zona en 1996, los desniveles, las orillas onduladas y tres islotes han contribuido a aumentar la biodiversidad. Aquí encontrarás, por ejemplo, una charca para anfibios, un prado de flores, árboles trasmochos y muchas aves, plantas e insectos poco comunes. Una acequia de depuración con un filtro de helófitas mantiene cristalina el agua del pólder. Las bacterias entre las raíces de los juncos descomponen el exceso de nutrientes, como fosfatos y nitratos.
