Mils est une commune de 4625 habitants dans le district d'Innsbruck-Land en Tyrol. La commune est située dans le district judiciaire de Hall en Tyrol. Mils se trouve dans la vallée de l'Inn sur un cône de débris, au pied des montagnes de Karwendel, à douze kilomètres à l'est de la capitale du land, Innsbruck, près de Hall en Tyrol. Le territoire de la commune est délimité à l'ouest par le Weißenbach et au sud par l'Inn. L'Inn, qui coule à environ 560 mètres d'altitude, fait monter le territoire communal vers le nord-ouest le long du Weißenbach jusqu'à 770 mètres d'altitude. Au nord-est, des hauteurs boisées atteignent jusqu'à 830 mètres au-dessus du niveau de la mer.
