Le Wildkogel est une montagne haute de 2224 m d'altitude, située dans les Alpes de Kitzbühel dans leland autrichien de Salzbourg. Cette montagne facilement accessible, recouverte d'herbe, est aujourd'hui fortement développée sur le plan touristique, avec une station de ski sur ses pentes et une auberge située au sud, en dessous du sommet. Grâce à son emplacement solitaire, le Wildkogel offre une vue panoramique impressionnante, déjà décrite dans la littérature au 19ème siècle, notamment sur le Großvenediger.
