Thorpark è un'area di 10 km² dietro l'ex miniera di Waterschei. L'area ha talmente tante qualità che sarà collegata al Parco Nazionale. Qui puoi trovare tutto ciò che le Hoge Kempen hanno da offrire: montagne di minerali tra brughiere e boschi di pini, una bella valle fluviale, ginepri e dune di sabbia. Alcuni edifici notevoli arricchiscono il paesaggio: la colonia infantile di As e la miniera di carbone di Waterschei (Thor Central). Puoi già passeggiare ampiamente, ma una porta d'accesso nella nota ricetta delle altre porte (ancora) non c'è.
