Wethau è un comune nel Burgenlandkreis in Sassonia-Anhalt. È composto dalle frazioni di Gieckau, Pohlitz, Schmerdorf e Wethau. Il comune, ricostituito nel 2010 a seguito della riforma territoriale comunale, appartiene alla comunità amministrativa di Wethautal.
Il comune di Wethau si trova a nord della comunità amministrativa di Wethautal, tra i comuni di Schönburg a nord e Mertendorf a sud. Al margine del paesino scorre il fiume omonimo Wethau. La sede del comune si trova a circa quattro chilometri a sud-est della città di Naumburg. A est si unisce il comune unificato di Teuchern.
