La centrale di Heimbach, ovvero la centrale di Urft, si trova nel nord dell'Eifel nella Rureifel nel comune di Heimbach nel distretto di Düren, in Renania Settentrionale-Vestfalia.
La centrale idroelettrica è stata costruita in connessione con la diga di Urft a partire dal 1900 ed è stata messa in funzione l'8 agosto 1905. Si trova a riva della Rur, ma preleva l'acqua dalla diga di Urft attraverso il tunnel di Kermeter, che si innalza di 67 metri sopra la centrale e convoglia un flusso d'acqua di 16 m³/s. Alla sua inaugurazione, la centrale aveva una potenza di 12 megawatt ed era la più grande centrale idroelettrica a pompaggio d'Europa ed è gestita da RWE Generation.
