Questo sentiero escursionistico si snoda quasi esclusivamente su percorsi solidi e ben percorribili attraverso il bosco e in larga misura anche sulla "Ahornweg" sovraregionale. Attraverso il Limberg, il percorso conduce al "Zeppelinstein", dove il 28 giugno 1910 il dirigibile "Deutschland" è atterrato tra gli alberi. Inizialmente, il dirigibile era partito da Düsseldorf per il suo volo inaugurale, che avrebbe dovuto svolgersi attraverso la regione del Reno-Maino. Tuttavia, un bollettino meteorologico sfavorevole ha portato a un cambio di rotta verso la foresta di Teutoburgo, dove il Zeppelin si è arenato comunque tra forti piogge, grandine e neve - a giugno! - tra le cime degli alberi. Fortunatamente, solo un passeggero è rimasto ferito. Il "Zeppelinstein" ricorda questo evento.
