Il castello di Pals è un castello di confine del IX secolo nel nucleo antico di Pals, nella Bassa Ampurdan. Si conserva la torre dell’omaggio del vecchio castello, nota come la Torre delle Ore per il campanile costruito nel XV secolo.
Il castello è documentato nell'anno 889 in un precetto del re carolingio Oddone, legato al Monastero di Sant Paolo di Fontclara, dove è menzionato con il nome di castello di Mont Aspre. Nell'anno 994 i conti di Barcellona e Gerona, Ramon Borrell ed Ermesenda, lo donano, insieme con la chiesa di San Pietro, al vescovado di Gerona.
