Il centro di animazione descrive l'intera storia dell'acqua salata. Dalla sua formazione diversi milioni di anni fa allo sfruttamento industriale, passando per la creazione di Salies-de-Béarn e lo sviluppo dell'industria termale. Il percorso audio è scandito da terminali interattivi, video e vetrine per soddisfare la curiosità di tutti.
Oggi qui si producono circa 2.000 tonnellate di sale all'anno.
Il salgemma di Salies-de-Béarn ha ottenuto il marchio di Indicazione Geografica Protetta dal 2016 ed è il sale utilizzato nel Prosciutto di Bayonne IGP.
Il centro di intrattenimento delle saline di Salies-de-Béarn è completato da una spianata che offre una vista a volo d'uccello sull'intero sito di produzione. Questo punto di vista è liberamente accessibile (durante gli orari di apertura del centro museale) ed è dotato di pannelli informativi.
