Dall'alto della Rocca di Termini Alta, questo castello domina l'intera città e gran parte della costa tirrenica.
Il castello fu completamente distrutto tra il 1860 e l'inizio del XX secolo. Oggi al suo posto si trovano un serbatoio d'acqua e le relative strutture. L'iconografia del XVI-XIX secolo mostra il castello isolato sulla rupe, con il nucleo in alto, protetto da un esteso circuito di mura bastionate.
