La Chiesa di San Giovanni dell'Origlione fu edificata nel XVII secolo come chiesa del vicino monastero benedettino, per il quale fu realizzata una passerella sopra gli edifici vicini.
Dopo secoli di abbandono e i terribili danni causati dalla Seconda Guerra Mondiale, è stato recentemente riscoperto, insieme ai preziosi tesori che custodisce al suo interno.
Tra questi il bellissimo dipinto settecentesco di San Benedetto che abbatte gli idoli, dipinto da Gaspare Serenario, e un pezzo degli affreschi originali attribuiti a Pietro Novelli.
