La fornace di mattoni Fivelmonde sul Damsterdiep a Delfzijl è l'ultima autentica fornace di mattoni ancora intatta con un forno a zig-zag a nord dei grandi fiumi. Un tempo c'erano 17 di queste fornaci nel nostro paese. Oltre alla conservazione del monumento industriale, ci sono idee per dare una funzione all'edificio come attrazione per il pubblico. Per quest'ultimo sono già stati effettuati diversi studi. La (finanziaria) fattibilità di ciò dipende anche dalle possibilità di sviluppo della fabbrica e dell'area circostante.
