Dat het voor haar meer is dan zo maar een plek beschrijft ze in een interview met het Nieuwsblad: “Als je in Zaventem landt, draait het vliegtuig boven Wijgmaal, mijn geboortedorp. En elke keer als ik vanuit de lucht de Remytoren zag, een oude fabriekstoren die boven dat dorp uittorent, dacht ik: ik ben thuis. Het gaf me telkens een enorme rust. Heel raar. Ik wist niet dat het in mij zat. En ergens vind ik het ook jammer, want ik dacht dat ik veel avontuurlijker was op dat vlak. Veel onafhankelijker.”
