De Locht is een gehucht van de deelgemeente Eksel, ten noorden van hier. Op 27 september 1914 werd, tijdens een hinderlaag in De Locht, een Duitse Huzaar door verzetstrijders van Generaal Deschepper doodgeschoten. Uit wraak hebben de Duitsers 27 boerderijen van De Locht volledig platgebrand. Daarbij vielen gelukkig geen slachtoffers.
