De boten van vzw de BOOT liggen op het Kanaal Ieper-IJzer aan de Driegrachtenbrug in Merkem. Deze idyllische plek is een recreatief knooppunt tussen de steden Ieper (14 km) en Diksmuide (10 km) en de gemeenten Houthulst (10 km) en Lo-Reninge (8 km). Met de fiets, de zonneboot of kano, te voet, per huifkar of met de muilezel kan de streek van hieruit worden verkend. De BOOT is uitgerust met een bar. Fietsers en wandelaars kunnen aan boord hun picknick gebruiken en gedetailleerde wandel- en fietskaarten kopen.
