Een ander dier dat profiteert van het moerasherstel is de boomkikker. Deze amfibieënsoort kwam in deze moerasrijke streek ooit wijdverspreid voor. In de jaren vijftig en zestig werd het stil rond dit bijzondere kikkertje. De belangrijke oorzaken waren het droogleggen van moerassen en het opruimen van ruigten, struwelen en poelen. Gelukkig is hij dus nu aan een opmars bezig. De boomkikker dankt zijn naam aan de zuignapjes aan zijn poten waarmee hij in tegenstelling tot andere inheemse amfibieënsoorten in struiken en lage bomen kan klimmen.
