Oude windmolensite die minstens opklimt tot de 17de eeuw. In 1665 is er immers volgens een archiefvermelding sprake van een hofstede met bijgaande molen waarvan de woning binnen de parochie Kalken was gelegen en de molen op grondgebied Lokeren stond. Het betrof een houten staakmolen met hoge gemetste teerlingen op een molenberg; zijn benaming Bontinkmolen werd ontleend aan de locatie. Volgens een archiefbron van 1783 was de korenwindmolen vergezeld van een rosmolen.
