Het oorlogsmonument op het kerkhof naast de Heilige Maurituskerk te Varsenare herdenkt de militaire en de burgerlijke slachtoffers van de Eerste en de Tweede Wereldoorlog.
Op de sokkel staat een bronzen beeldje van de Heilige Mauritius, gekleed als Romeins soldaat en steunend op zijn zwaard.
Naar aanleiding van 100 jaar Eerste Wereldoorlog en ter nagedachtenis van de gesneuvelden van deze oorlog werd een plaquette geplaatst met de tekst:
"1914 - 1918 - 2014 – 2018 / EENDRACHT MAAKT MACHT / DANKBARE HERINNERING AAN HEN / DIE IN DE EERSTE WERELDOORLOG GEVALLEN ZIJN / VOOR VRIJHEID EN DEMOCRATIE, / VANWEGE VICE-EERSTE MINISTER EN / MINISTER VAN LANDSVERDEDIGING PIETER DE CREM".
