Niet voor niets draagt de begraafplaats op Hoog Kortrijk de naam ‘Uitzicht’. Wandel door deze stilteplek richting de achterliggende vijver aan het Onument.
Dat Onument is een recent cirkelvormig herdenkingsmonument uit 2021. Het staat stil bij de vele coronaslachtoffers en is een troostplek bij allerlei verlieservaringen. Er kunnen ook momenten, evenementen en rituelen georganiseerd worden. Stil of luid, klein of groots, om samen of alleen te beleven. En het is sowieso een rustig, noem het gerust meditatief, plekje met een mooi uitzicht over de waterplas en de velden eromheen. Bij de vijver rust de marmeren sculptuur ‘Groot Gebonden Marmer’, een werk van de Kortrijkse kunstenaar Paul Van Rafelghem.
