De wandeling van Maissin naar het beroemde boekendorp Redu met zijn vele boekhandelaren, combineert natuur en (lees)cultuur. In 1984 hebben twee plaatselijke journalisten van dit leeglopend plattelandsdorp met 450 inwoners, een enorme boekenmarkt gemaakt. Naar het voorbeeld van Hay-on-Wye in Wales, dat sinds 1961 een uniek tweedehandsboekencentrum werd, vindt men vandaag in Redu een 20-tal boekhandels in oude stallingen en boerderijen. Men kan er ook zeldzame strips op de kop tikken. En uiteraard heeft ook de gastronomie zijn plaats in Redu.
