Portsmouth Football Club is een voetbalclub uit de Engelse stad Portsmouth, die speelt in de League One, na in het seizoen 2016/17 kampioen te zijn geworden van de League Two. Portsmouth speelt haar thuiswedstrijden al sinds de oprichting in 1898 in Fratton Park. Portsmouth speelde van 1947 t/m 1959, in 1987/88 en van 2004 t/m 2010 op het hoogste niveau. Twee keer werd het Engelse landskampioenschap behaald, in 1949 en in 1950. In 1939 en 2008 won Portsmouth de FA Cup.
In het seizoen in de Europa League dat volgde op de winst van de FA Cup speelde Portsmouth tegen AC Milan en had het internationaal bekende voetballers onder contract staan, onder wie Jermain Defoe. Door financiële problemen degradeerde de club in 2010 echter naar de Championship. Na twee seizoenen in de Championship degradeerde Portsmouth twee keer achter elkaar, eerst naar de League One en vervolgens naar de League Two. Daar verbleef zij tot en met het seizoen 2016/17, dat met het kampioenschap bekroond werd.
