Hij definieerde de datum van de schepping op de avond van 22 oktober 4004 voor Christus. Dit werd gepubliceerd in zijn beroemdste werk, het Annales veteris testamenti, een prima mundi origine deducti, dat verscheen in 1650, en de voortzetting daarvan, Annalium pars posterior , gepubliceerd in 1654.
