De Ponte della Maddalena is een brug die de rivier Serchio kruist. Deze brug was een belangrijke oversteekplaats op de Via Francigena. Dat is een oude weg Rome-Frankrijk en een belangrijke middeleeuwse pelgrimsroute. De brug is een opmerkelijk voorbeeld van middeleeuwse techniek. Het is vernoemd naar Maria Magdalena, omdat hier standbeeld stond aan de voet van de brug op de oostelijke oever.
