Gronsveld is een plaats in de gemeente Eijsden-Margraten in het zuidwestelijke deel van de Nederlandse provincie Limburg. Ten noorden bevindt zich de gemeente Maastricht en aan de zuidzijde liggen de plaatsen Eijsden en Rijckholt. Op 1 januari 2021 had Gronsveld volgens de gemeente 2.920 inwoners.Gronsveld heette eerder Groesselt dan wel Grousselt. De eerste s was een korte, voor ons gewone s, die als eindletter werd gebruikt, en de tweede een ſ, een lange s, die op andere plaatsen in een woord werd gebruikt. De korte s stond aan het eind van de eerste lettergreep en de ſ aan het begin van de tweede lettergreep. Door verkeerd te lezen of over te schrijven is men hier Gronsfelt en later Gronsveld van gaan maken.
